GETTING MY HEAD STRAIGHT

Getting my head straight
A larger task I’ve never had
Years of going along
To get along…uncertainty
My constant companion
Unwanted…but what to do?

I guess I’m not the Alpha type
Easygoing, if I can be…
So someone with other plans
Not worried about mine
Could too easily prevail
The cost…incalculable…
And it didn’t bring a happy state
So now in reconstruction…fixing me

It’s not strictly a gender thing, but more weighted toward the male, for sure. We all need to be kinder, less fearful, less prone to easy anger. We see the consequences everywhere of what happens the way things are now…a violent nation.

Agreed!! In my opinion, guns need to be put down, people need to listen instead of reacting, what color our bodies are shouldn’t make a damn bit of difference, and most importantly we need to look at each other with love..

The 2nd Amendment thing was distorted by extremists posing as keepers of original intent. This won’t be easily remedied, and when even fundamentalist churches raffle off guns, I wonder if I’ll ever see sane gun policies. Of course, my poem was about personal renewal, but the entire society needs to rethink a whole lot of issues.
