ONE MORE THING

He was the detective
In the rumpled raincoat…
Always pretending
To be absent-minded…
But as he was leaving
There was always a final
Oh…one more thing…
That’s when the truth came
Underestimated but
Determined and sly as a fox…
An unforgettable character
Aren’t you glad you
Had nothing to hide?
You didn’t…right?

Love this! Reminds me of that detective on TV. Was it Columbo! Wrinkled rain coat, messy looking, one eye…

Thank you, Suzanne. BINGO! It was Columbo. I loved the character, though I could have done without the cigar.
