In these trying times
We can only do our best
To hold ourselves together
When it feels like the world
Is totally falling apart…
I wait eagerly for Spring
The arrival of signs
Of life renewed is uplifting
The crocuses are
Among the first arrivals
Along with other flora
Whose names escape me
It isn’t until the tulips
Are fully flowering
That I know the
Long hard Winter
Is finally behind us
Summer will come soon,
Too soon…with more heat
Than a body can bear…
Am I the only one who would
Pick either Spring or the Fall
And stay forever there?
In the meantime…tell me
When tulip time’s here!

I agree we could do without extremes but therein lies some magnificence, like the aurora.
But give me spring and autumn and maybe I would forget. Lovely inspiring poem.

Thank you, Denise. Welcome to my blog. I’ll have to check yours…but first I need to rest my eyes…too long on the computer, and it’s showing. Continuing the theme of the poem…doing my best, considering we never get younger…just older.
